This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Ọjà AI, contact us or visit this website, why we collect it, and how you can ask us to delete it.
1. Who we are (data controller)
Lyfbuilder Smartpreneur Connect Ltd (RC 1953152) is the data controller for personal data processed through Ọjà AI. We are responsible for that data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

2. What data we collect
- Contact details: your name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address, business name and business location, when you contact us or sign up.
- Messages and orders: what you send us by WhatsApp (text or voice note), phone call, SMS, USSD or email, including voice recordings and images you choose to share.
- Business and trade data: orders, products, prices, stock levels, customers and suppliers, and sales records that you or your business partners enter into or send through Ọjà AI.
- Account and usage data: how you use Ọjà AI, such as features used, dates and times, and settings.
- Technical data: when you visit this website, our hosting provider may automatically log your IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site working. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health, religious or biometric data). Please do not send it to us.
3. Why we use your data, and our lawful basis
- To provide Ọjà AI, including turning your messages into orders, predicting when products may run out, sending reorder reminders and producing sales insights. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To produce market insights for distributors, manufacturers and importers, such as product availability, stockout and demand trends by area. These insights are aggregated or de-identified and do not include your private conversations. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To reply to your enquiries and provide customer support. Lawful basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in answering you.
- To improve and secure our service, including fixing problems, preventing fraud and developing new features. Where possible, we use aggregated or de-identified data. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To send updates about Ọjà AI if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time. Lawful basis: consent.
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and lawful requests from authorities. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Who we share data with
We share data only when we need to, and only with:
- Service providers who help us run Ọjà AI, such as cloud hosting, messaging (including WhatsApp, operated by Meta) and AI or data-processing providers. They act on our instructions and must protect your data.
- Your trading partners on Ọjà AI, such as a distributor receiving your order. We share only what is needed to complete the transaction.
- Manufacturers and importers receive aggregated or de-identified market insights, not your personal data or private messages.
- Partner lenders, only if you ask us to and give your explicit consent, so they can assess your business for finance. Ọjà AI does not lend money itself. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
- Authorities when the law requires it.
5. Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Nigeria. When this happens, we take the steps required by the NDPA to make sure your data stays adequately protected, for example by relying on adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards.
6. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Typically:
- Account and business data is kept while your account is active, then deleted or anonymised within 12 months of closure, unless the law requires us to keep it longer (for example, financial records).
- Enquiry messages from people who do not become users are deleted within 12 months.
- Website server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider for security purposes.
7. How we protect data
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and choosing reputable service providers. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the NDPA requires.
8. Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used (this policy);
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use your data;
- receive your data in a commonly used format, or have it sent to another provider (data portability); and
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it.
9. How to ask us to delete your data
To ask for your data to be deleted, or to use any other right above:
- Email hello@ojaai.ng with the subject “Data deletion request”, or
- Send a WhatsApp message to +234 803 495 7353 saying “Data deletion request”.
Please include your name, and the phone number or email address you used with Ọjà AI, so we can find your records. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request.
We will respond within 30 days. Once your request is confirmed, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, unless we must keep certain records by law. If so, we will tell you what we are keeping and why.
10. Children
Ọjà AI is a business service and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your data, please contact us first at hello@ojaai.ng and we will try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC): ndpc.gov.ng.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will let users know directly.
